Henderson is a small city in southeastern Tennessee. It is positioned at the junction of Tennessee Highways 100 and 5. Henderson is located 88 miles east of Memphis and 135 miles west of Nashville. According to the United States Census Bureau, Henderson was populated by approximately 6,551 people in 2016. It is the largest city in Chester County.

Henderson is located in a region of the United States that was originally inhabited by Native American Indians. When settlers of European descent arrived, the Native Americans were pushed out. Henderson was formed in the 1850s. It served as a railroad stop on the Mobile Railroad. Henderson was originally known as Dayton. The name was changed during the Civil War.

Today, Henderson is a quaint and charming Southern city. According to the city’s website, “Henderson is a progressive modern, small Southern town, but it also has its heritage and history deeply embedded within its borders and embraced by its citizens.” In Henderson, residents enjoy the benefits of small-town life with access to large city amenities and wonderful community facilities. For many, Henderson is the ideal place to live.

In Henderson, weather conditions vary greatly each season. Professional HVAC technicians recommend Henderson residents have cooling and heating systems installed in their homes. During the months of June, July, and August, the average daytime temperature highs range from the mid to upper-80s. Temperatures climb to the mid-90s and above when heat waves pass through the city. Cooling systems like central air conditioning units are sufficient for Henderson residents. When properly installed, the systems keep residents cool and comfortable indoors.

In addition to cooling systems, Henderson residents should have heating systems installed in their homes. During the months of December, January, and February, freezing temperatures and precipitation are common. Professional HVAC technicians recommend Henderson homes be equipped with furnaces. When temperatures fall, furnaces protect residents and their homes from potential damages caused by harsh winter weather conditions.
